Ronda L. Tate is a member of the Firm's Litigation Group. She represents a wide array of clients in the public and private sectors, ranging from municipalities and charter schools to Fortune 500 corporations, as well as companies in the entertainment/hospitality industries.
Ms. Tate's practice is largely devoted to labor and employment issues. Her experience includes handling unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board and assisting in the drafting of collective bargaining agreements. She has successfully resolved complaints with administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and defended employers in civil lawsuits regarding claims under the ELCRA, ADEA and Title VII.
Additionally, Ms. Tate has drafted provisions for employer policy manuals and advised clients on compliance with labor/employment laws and regulations. Her knowledge of this field recently prompted a national news program, "The Takeaway" (produced by Public Radio International and the New York Times), to select her as a guest panelist for its morning segment regarding workplace issues.
Ms. Tate is also skilled in negotiating business contracts and litigating distribution disputes. In addition to developing the practical skill of representing clients during media press conferences, Ms. Tate has gained valuable trial experience before the state and federal courts. She has worked on several appellate matters and achieved success at the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Tate further played a key role in acquiring a victory at the Michigan Supreme Court in regards to a significant standing issue.
Ms. Tate's interests include football, water sports, reading/writing, and mentoring youth.
